The 1:00 p.m. Prevention Tailgate Party will include interactive exhibits and activities for the entire family by ArtFest Fort Myers, the YMCA, Stay Alive Just Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol, the Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner Photo Booth, DJ Dan Darren, the Department of Juvenile Justice and others.
Parents play an important role in a child’s decision to drink. New research from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) shows that teens who receive a message from their parents that underage drinking is completely unacceptable are more than 80 percent less likely to drink than teens who receive other messages.
MADD knows that informed, caring parents can make a difference. Bring your family to the DRIVE THE LANE Celebrity Basketball Game and receive our Power of Parents® booklet full of tips and tools to help you start the potentially lifesaving conversation about alcohol with your kids. Youth and adults will be invited to sign underage drinking prevention pledge cards.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. For interview opportunities with the celebrities, contact Lori Burke at (239) 791-7560. Tickets are available at the door, and online at http://thenewhomespot.com/
