Each of the Local Roots Farmers Markets offers a unique opportunity for area vendors to sell seasonal local fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, breads, nursery stock, agricultural products, and other unique commodities.
The Sanibel Island Farmers Market is open every Sun. starting Oct. 5 through Apr. 26, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 800 Dunlop Road on Sanibel Island. This market features fresh bread, local produce, honey, seafood, meats and cheeses. Parking is free and available in the lots at Sanibel City Hall, Sanibel Library, BIG Arts and the Schoolhouse Theater.
The Fenway South Farmers Market is open every Mon. starting Jan. 5, 2015 through Mar. 9, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 11500 Fenway South Drive in Fort Myers. This market features more than 35 vendors selling local produce, cheeses, flowers, fresh pastas, seafood, baked breads, meats, herbs, organic vegetables, hand-made crafts, soaps, candles and ready-to-eat meals. Parking at JetBlue Park is free during market hours.
The Coconut Point Farmers Market is open every Thur. starting Oct. 2 through Apr. 30, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 23105 Fashion Drive in Estero. This market is an outdoor, dog-friendly shopping destination featuring local seafood, meats, beautiful flowers, locally harvested honey, baked goods, hand-made soaps, hand-woven baskets and hats, and one-of-a-kind hand crafted items.
The Lakes Park Farmers Market is open every Fri. starting Oct. 3 through Apr. 24, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 7300 Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers. Featuring more than 60 vendors, this market offers fresh produce, fruit smoothies, meats, seafood, various accessories and hand-made soaps, baskets, jewelry, paintings and live music. Parking at Lakes Park is free during market hours. Overflow parking is located at designated areas in the park as well as the open-field at the entrance.
New this season, the Bonita Springs Farmers Market is open every Sat. starting Oct. 4 to Apr. 25, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 26795 South Bay Drive in Bonita Springs at The Promenade. This market is returning to the Bonita Springs area and will offer garden-fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh cut flowers, decorative plants, baked goods, and local seafood, honey and jams. Parking is available throughout The Promenade Shopping Center.
