Streets Alive: New hours for 2014!

Streets Alive is changing its time slightly for its 2014 event, in response to many comments and requests from people who wanted to participate in last years fun but found it conflicted with their Sunday schedule.
So this year, we’ll kick things off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, in downtown Fort Myers, and keep things happening (and keep downtown streets closed so people can play) until 4 p.m. that day. This will enable people who have other commitments Sunday morning to still have time to come downtown and join the fun.
Streets Alive is designed to close the streets to traffic and open them up for people to play, move and combine fun with health. The second annual signature event of the Healthy Lee Coalition is set for Sunday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the downtown Fort Myers River District. Streets Alive of a tax-exempt 501c3 nonprofit based in Fort Myers, with long-term plans to schedule a series of fun and participatory events at sites throughout Lee County. Information is online at
