Dr. Mears will see patients at the Fort Myers office at 6901 International Center Blvd, Fort Myers and the Port Charlotte office at 2525 Harbor Blvd., Suite 302, Port Charlotte.

Prior to joining Retina Consultants, Dr. Mears was a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
She earned her medical degree from the School of Medicine at the National University of Ireland. Dr. Mears earned a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Montreal in Canada. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich.
She also was honored with a Fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Ia.
Dr. Mears has made many presentations about her research and written for many publications, including JAMA Ophthalmology.
She is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Mears is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the International Society of Ocular Oncologists and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the United Kingdom. In her spare time, Dr. Mears enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family.
