PSA calls for responsible adult holiday parties to prevent underage drinking

Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida and Drug Free Collier have teamed up to create a PSA to help prevent underage drinking as part of the #refuse campaign. Television spots will air in the Fort Myers/Naples DMA from December 18th through December 31st calling for responsible adult holiday parties.

Alcohol is often part of holiday celebrations. The PSA encourages adults to be careful and responsible when hosting parties and limit temptations that can lead to poor decisions. The spot also serves as a reminder that serving alcohol to anyone under the age of 21 is illegal, even in your own home.

Link to the PSA:

“More young people try alcohol for the first time in the month of December than any other month of the year.” – Dan Mills, Vice-Chairman, Lee County Coalition for a Drug Free Southwest Florida.
“Underage drinking is not only against the law, it creates real health risks. Young people deserve every opportunity to live up to their full potential. Do your part. Keep alcohol out of the hands of our youth.” – Melanie Black, Executive Director, Drug Free Collier.
“We know kids in Southwest Florida are making the right decisions about alcohol and drugs. Help us keep it that way. Talk to your kids about making good choices.” – Deborah Comella, Executive Director, Lee County Coalition for a Drug Free Southwest Florida.
