Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida, the region’s largest medical practice specializing in diseases of the retina, has opened a new 5,158 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Naples for the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases.
Walking into the new medical offices feels like entering a restful spa.
Soft music playing.
Soothing shades of blue and wood tones
Subdued lighting in the dilation areas.
It’s all part of the friendly, relaxing atmosphere the physicians and staff of Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida have created at their new larger office at 2400 Goodlette Frank Road in Eagle View Professional Park adjacent to the NCH Physicians Group building.
“We want our patients to feel at home here,” said Joseph P. Walker, M.D., and founder of Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida. “We asked the designers to make our reception areas friendlier, the exam rooms larger, and to look at the space through the eyes of our patients.”
The result is a 5,158 square foot free-standing building that is both welcoming and extremely functional.
It starts outside with more parking and easy access with no stairs or elevators to navigate. Inside, patients will find larger labs, examination rooms, and laser rooms that are designed for efficient flow from one area to the next. Wider hallways require less walking between examination and testing rooms.
The office, which was designed by Chris Lee Architects, also includes space for educational programs for referring physicians. DeAngelis Diamond was the builder with engineering services provided by Davidson Engineering.
The new office replaces the one at 2335 Tamiami Trail N., which has been home to Retina Consultants’ Naples office for more than 25 years. Other offices are located in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Port Charlotte.
In addition to Dr. Walker, the medical practice includes retina specialists Dr. Paul A. Raskauskas, Dr. Tom Ghuman and Dr. Ashish Sharma as well as Dr. Donald C. Fletcher, director of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Center.
