Estero High School Culinary Program hosts Cooking Demo

Recently, the Estero High School Culinary program hosted a cooking demo at the Healthy Life Center. The class taught local residents the best tips and tricks to properly preparing fruits and vegetables. The chopping demo was very educational, nutritious and delicious!

The Estero High School Culinary program is a unique opportunity for students to learn skills and techniques used in the culinary industry.  With Chef Jeremy Jasper, formerly at the Ritz-Carlton, as the instructor, students are learning what it really means to cook.  The program uses the well-known ProStart curriculum developed by the National Restaurant Association, focusing on safety and sanitation, proper knife skills, proper cooking techniques as well as skills necessary to be successful in the hospitality industry.

The Healthy Life Center at Coconut Point offers a variety of services and education that support healthy lifestyles, early detection of disease, chronic disease management. The center hosts events including classes, workshops, seminars, cooking demonstrations, children’s programs and more.
