Scavenger Hunt Ideas

A scavenger hunt is a fun and exciting alternative activity to the TV, computer, phone, and other screens! You can incorporate objects that can be found at the mall, a local plaza, or in your neighborhood. Have fun, but remember to be respectful of other people’s property. Here are some ideas from Pinterest of what to collect to help get you started:

  • Family recipe from a neighbor
  • Map of a mall
  • Pinecone from the local park
  • Restaurant napkin
  • Take-out menu from a specific restaurant
  • A copy of the front page of the local newspaper (can’t buy the newspaper!)
  • A bag full of as much trash as you can pick up (can’t take from trash cans!)
  • Fortune cookie (extra points if the word “happy” appears in the fortune cookie note)
  • Change of address card from the post-office
  • “Buy one, get one free” coupon from a grocery store
  •  Business card from a lawyer (extra points if his first name is “John”)
  • A disposable toilet seat cover
  • A stranger’s autograph (extra points if his/her name is “Jordan”)
