This year’s “Trauma Awareness” theme is focused on “Driving Safety”

Now more than ever, we must keep our eyes on the roadway and concentrate on driving. Preliminary data from FDOT as of March 7, 2023, we have had 17 fatalities on our roads. These crashes involved, different causes, some medical, alcohol-related, speeding, and distracted driving.

The citizens of Lee County need to please take action to keep our roadways safe for everyone.

  • Do not drive distracted.
  • Do not drink and drive.
  • Keep your eyes on the roadway.
  • Anticipate other drivers’ movements.
  • Slowdown in neighborhoods.
  • Wear your seatbelt every trip, every time.

We celebrated with a Trauma Awareness Article on injury prevention, multiple Social Media posts, and Webpage posts. Doctors and Staff members were involved in activities, i.e., Tik Tok videos (x4), Trauma Olympics, and Trauma knowledge questionnaires.
