National Prevention Week, May 9-15, 2021 brought a well-deserved recognition to one of Lee County’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Prevention Club. The Olympia Track Club was recognized for it’s Running Away from Vaping Public Service Announcement. Led by Maddette Smith, the Olympia Track Club made time for prevention, and worked with filmmaker Ariel Vasquez and SADD Club Coordinator Sharetha Davis on a timely and effective Vaping Prevention Video to be used with their peers and the general community.
The video can be viewed on the Coalition YouTube Site, https://youtu.be/kx3htavGg7g
In honor of National Prevention Week (NPW) 10th anniversary, The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) highlighted the outstanding prevention impacts that have been achieved, with an emphasis on youth leading prevention efforts.
Students Against Destructive Decisions Clubs are sponsored by the Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida and funded by proceeds from the Busey Bank Run for Prevention. For information on starting a SADD Club at your school, church, or organization, contact email@example.com
